Last fall 2021 Brand Stylist, Kate Lagos, got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Adam. The event took place on the weekend of her 30th birthday, characterized by a loving story, and of course, beautiful jewelry. It should come as no surprise that Kate’s father, Steven Lagos lent his expertise as a master jeweler to help design the perfect ring. Read on for more details behind the exciting engagement and custom ring.
Kate, tell us about your engagement. Was it a surprise?
Absolutely! My fiancé Adam knows I love surprises, but he also reminds me frequently that I love to ruin them. He carefully planned it around my 30th birthday vacation with our friends – a trip I planned on my own – so that I would have no idea of what was to come. A proposal after a hike under the sunset, and then a celebration with our friends – it was perfect.
Kate, it must have been so great to have your father design your ring. What is special about the craftmanship?
I requested that the ring feature my mother’s unique side stones from her original engagement ring. This made it feel like both my parents were included in the design. Then, having my very best friend, my love, propose to me, made it extra special.
What is engraved in the ring and who chose it?
Adam asked my dad if he could have the word FOREVER engraved along the inside of the ring. We have known each other as close friends for over half of our lifetime and continue now in each other’s lives forever. We say to one another, “I love you forever and always.”
And now a question for Steve, how did it feel designing your daughter’s engagement ring?
It’s been something I’ve been waiting to do for a long time. Kate had a pretty good idea of what she wanted. While it was a surprise when she first saw it, we had talked about “her ring” for years. It was fun working with Adam, he was as excited as Kate. We’re happy to have him as part of our family.
