Guest Post, Jamie Hector: Generational Jewelry
This week we have a multi-talented guest writer sharing some very valuable details on heirloom jewelry. Jamie Hector is the Public Relations Director. Read on for her insights.
My Grandma Bunny (short for Bernice) introduced me to all things luxe and lovely. Having lost my grandfather at an early age, her home was a haven of all things feminine and beautiful. Everything was pristine and white from the carpets and the couch to the fluffy comforter on her bed. Her vanity was covered in sweet smelling powder puffs and glass perfume bottles with fun and fringy squeeze pumps. She wore beautiful fur coats when it was still acceptable and valued fabulous accessories including scarves and of course jewelry. When she passed, 17 years ago, I was lucky to receive some of these treasured items.
As a loyal Neiman Marcus shopper, my Grandma would be excited to know that I work for a jewelry brand that’s available at her favorite store. I can imagine her going into the fine jewelry department and proudly telling the associates that her granddaughter works for LAGOS.
The pieces she handed down have such special meaning and tell their own stories. That’s the beauty of LAGOS jewelry – it’s classic and timeless and holds personal memories for the women who wear it. From our 18K Caviar Gold to our Luna pearls, I look forward to handing these pieces down from generation to generation, along with stories of the beloved family figures who came before us.
And, as it turns out, LAGOS is Greek for Rabbit. I’m sure Grandma Bunny would appreciate that too.
