A Mother’s Day Note from Steven Lagos, Our Founder and Creative Director
This Mother’s Day comes shortly after the first anniversary of my mother’s passing. I imagine any year would be difficult without my mother, but 2020 was especially tough. I know many of our customers may be feeling a similar sense of loss and disconnect this Mother’s Day.
I find comfort as the orders come in with heartfelt notes to the women our customers cherish most. Sister to sister, husband to wife, children to mom. The notes are full of love and appreciation. It reminds me why I love doing what I do. Jewelry connects people. It creates memories and it lasts a lifetime.
I wrote last year about my mother’s jewelry box and the $12 piece I bought as a child that she kept on top of her precious jewels. It reinforces that the value is in the gift and in the giving. Every piece of jewelry tells a story. It’s a very powerful thing.
I want to wish every Mom a happy Mother’s Day and hope you build some beautiful memories with the special women in your lives.
